This is the first time that the DM team has reported the theme plan of the event more completely, and the first time to go to the event venue to understand the size of the venue to prepare for the subsequent event planning.
On the basis of the theme "The power of material", we tentatively decided to proceed from three materials (coffee, sugar, avocado) through the members' previous discussions.
After discussing with the person in charge of Tate Exchange activities, we all think that it is a better choice to put all the focus on one material, so that it can more fully introduce the background of the material and its story. Therefore, we talk about the power of coffee in the UK and the world, and about the environmental issues caused by coffee (power). The person in charge told us that the Tate museum has its own coffee factory and coffee bean supplier, and the amount of coffee sold by the museum every day is very large, which means that all resource consumption around coffee will increase. We propose that when people buy a cup of coffee and drink it, they ignore the story behind the coffee. Therefore, we decided to start our research with coffee.
At this stage, we have not yet determined the final activity form and the form of artwork that may be created. Under the advice of the officer, we visited an artwork in the museum and hope to get inspiration.
