When we decided to do this 'one week project' togther, we wrote some interesting words and shared with each other.
My key words: Contemporary Jewelry/Wearable
Xinming's key words: Body sculpture/Relationship
So we thought we both are interested on wearable stuff which related to our body. Then, we list 5 descriptions and questions(These also are aims of project.):
1. Finding a new way to wear sculpture on human body.
2. How art works affect our emotion and action?
3. Exploring material through human sense.
4. Materialising the concept through experiments and researches.
5. Breaking the boundary between the organ, skeleton, skin with accessories.
After that, we began to research what kind of relationship that we wanna express. We noticed that there are two status in society, one is 'attract', another one is 'reject'. It means that when two people meet each other, they can be good friends or couple even if they haven't known each other for a long time, but some poeple are not. Thus, we wanna do a kind of accessory which can express these status.
Material part: the characteristics of magnet are 'attract' and 'reject', and this accessory are able to move, thus we considered some soft materials, like woolen yarn.

I am so glad that I have a chance to collaborate with Polly, because our background are different. Thus we can share our experiences and suggestions with each other.
In fact, we can do better about this project but we only have one week. We can do more research about the relationship between human, and consider more about the form of this body accessory. There are many other ways to express ‘attract' and ‘reject’, and we should test more, whether it is material or form. Since this is our first time to do weaving work, we did not very well in some detail of the work, especially when we placed the magnet at the last step, the work was changed because of the magnet, which we did not concider about.
