Discussing the idea of using chains with Maiko: a. The mental and living conditions of the 'survivors' after trauma. B. Indonesia's imprisonment of mental patients. C. The continuation of the idea of body of armour, when the chain is wore on the body, It is another kind of 'protection'. But I found that these reasons can't support the reason of using this form of chain, so I need to do more research in this area. In addition, regarding the healing goals in my project, because I paid too much attention to the traumatic part, I ignored the "curing" effect that I expected to achieve. I should not force myself at the black hole. Find a hopeful place to achieve the healing effect. For example, the process of making a salt project is the process of ‘healing yourself’.
I previously planned to engrave the narrative wrting text on the salt chain with some special effects. After experiment summary and self-analysis and discussion with the tutor, I chose another way to display these texts. For example, at the end I plan to present the work in the form of a video, so I can read the text aloud. Maiko reminded me that different sounds, accents, language, etc. all affect the direction of the work and the audience.
Finally, I put forward keywords about my entire project: Salt, trauma, therapy, chain .. But I found that there is still a missing part or an element to connect all the keywords together. So I reworked out two elements: ‘myself’ and ‘body’
‘myself’ —— ‘respone personal stories’
‘body’—— ‘human body remembers event’
Next steps:
1. Resarech some artists who do physical memory 2. Broadcast about the content:
